ENGLISH LEARNING IN CHINA
From the official sources, More than 300 million Chinese people, or nearly a quarter of the country's population, have studied English either as a major course or as an elective subject. Number of people who have received formal learning of the English language from primary schools to higher learning institutes has added up to over 100 million. Modern foreign language teaching in Chinese schools started in the 1980s. The systematic English teaching program, which runs through primary schools to higher learning institutes, was formally launched in 2000. The ministry's statistics suggested that the current number of students enrolled on Chinese campuses amounted to 23 million, which is the world's largest group of foreign language learners.

English, as the world language and one of the most popular language around the world, is always learned in many different ways. The improvement of computer technology and the ubiquitous accessing of internet make the learning of English in anywhere and at any place. This new technology helps so many English learners that it becomes the most effective learning method. Nowadays, there are some new trends in English online learning and it needs some summary about the English online learning in China for it is the country where there are the most English learners who take English as their foreign language around the world.

WHAT IS CHINA DOING ABOUT ENGLISH LEARNING
There were over 200 million PreK-12 schoolchildren in China in 2013. China has a centralized primary and secondary curriculum developed by the government. The government's goal is to have the entire K-12 student population online in the next ten years.
In June 2010, the Shanghai municipal government announced that they intend to have all of their 1.2 million students accessing digital content on handheld devices by 2015. Nanjing began replacing textbooks with tablets starting in 21 schools in September 2012.
A conservative estimate by the Chinese federal government forecasts that over 20 million educational tablets will be deployed in Chinese schools by 2016. Intel is likely to have strong market share by then. Intel began rolling out their Studybook tablet in Chinese schools in late 2013.
